Monei's Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Monei (the "App") collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the Monei mobile application.

Monei is developed and operated by Alessio Rubicini ("We," "Us," or "Our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because Monei is designed as a minimal, offline, and local-data application, our data collection practices are minimal and transparent.

1. Data Collection and Usage

Monei is an offline application. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data, usage data, or analytics from your device to our servers or to any third parties.

A. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App's primary purpose is to help you track your personal finances. All data necessary for the App's function is stored exclusively on your iPhone using the secure storage capabilities provided by the iOS operating system (specifically, Apple's SwiftData framework). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up or share it using iOS features (e.g., iCloud backup, manual export).

Information you may provide and that is stored locally:

• First Name (Optional): You may optionally provide your first name, which is used solely for a personalized greeting within the App.
• Financial Data: Data related to your personal financial tracking, including names and balances of accounts, and details of transactions (expenses, incomes, transfers, notes, categories, and dates).

We do not have access to, nor do we collect, any of the following information:

• Email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
• Precise or coarse location data.
• Health, Contacts, Camera, or Microphone data.
• Usage statistics, crash logs, or analytics.
• IP addresses or device identifiers.

B. No Automatic Data Collection or Tracking

The App does not use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, or any other tracking technologies. We do not collect non-personal data (such as device model or operating system version) for analytics or performance monitoring.

2. Data Storage and Security

A. Data Storage Location

All personal and financial data you input into Monei is stored locally and solely on your mobile device. The App does not connect to any external server (ours or a third party's) to transmit or store your operational data.

B. Security

We leverage the security features provided by the iOS operating system and the SwiftData framework to store your local data. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, using local, encrypted storage mechanisms provided by Apple offers a high degree of protection for your data against external unauthorized access. Since your data is not transmitted over the internet, many typical security risks are mitigated.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Monei does not share your personal or financial data with any third parties, service providers, or advertisers.

• No Third-Party Services: We do not integrate with third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase), advertising networks (e.g., AdMob, Facebook Audience Network), or external cloud hosting services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
• No Sharing for Marketing: Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. User Rights and Data Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain complete control over it.

• Access, Modification, and Deletion: You can access, review, modify, and delete your financial data directly within the Monei application at any time.
• Complete Data Erasure: You can permanently delete all data associated with Monei in two ways:
  • By using the dedicated "Erase" option available within the App's settings.
  • By deleting the Monei application from your iPhone.

5. Children's Privacy

Monei is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, as the App does not collect any personally identifiable information from any user. If you are under 13, please do not use this App.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes. Your continued use of the App after the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
